A Pair of Wooden Tea Caddies In The Shape Of An Apple And Pear for sale
Item ID: 387308
Item Description
A pair of rare English pearwood tea caddies from the Georgian period-18th century.
They both have the plug in the bottom--the pear has its original plug and the apple had a replaced plug.
Both have the original hardware and escutcheon, except some of the tiny screws have been replaced with later versions. The apple does not have a stem and the pear has a possible replaced stem. Their finish and patina is good, but not perfect. Please look at the photos carefully. There is some cracking in the wood due to unstable humidity as is expected in wooden pieces of this age.
I will sell these individually or as a pair. $3,000 for both. Individually, they are $1,500 each.
