Curtis Jere 1960's Enameled Dove Wall Hanging for sale
Item ID: 398467
Item Description
Signed example of late 60's C. Jere (Artisan House) enameling.
Artisan house started making enamel pieces in 1966, and only did so for a few years. This type of hand enameling was a labor intensive process so less were made. The Dove is one of our favorites of the enamels. This sculpture still has the sticker from the original gift shop that sold it. The gift shop was in business during the late 60's (when this piece was likely purchased) and 70's at The Hillside Inn in Plymouth MI. The Hillside Inn was a Plymouth Landmark for many years. A second Hugh Jarvis mall location was opened in 1981 but according to Google research they are no longer in business.
The dove sculpture is 9" X 8" and in excellent condition with a slight chip on neck - see photo.
