Exquisite large semi-antique Baku Kilim, hand woven in the Caucasus circa 1930-40. Smaller geometric shapes woven in a color palette of brick, blue, grey and ivory presents a soothing design. These large and dramatic kilimswere produced by villagers and tribal nomads in the Caucasus--the current countries of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Dagestan. The pieces are often large, and typically have clear coloring and bold patterns.
