The assortment of round and pointed medallions is framed and centered by fretwork cornerpieces and ultimately by the enclosing framework of scroll and meander borders. But what really makes this carpet is the lovely shade of shimmering mauve that provides such a harmonious and soothing complement for the all the saffron gold tones.
