William Katavolos and his friend Douglas Kelly and classmate at Pratt, created the T-chair model number 3LC for Mr Kelly’s parent house in Buffalo New York in 1952. The final design produced by Laverne is attributed to William Katavolos, Douglas Kelley, Ross Littell and Alton Kelley. Often referred to as the "T chair" because of its T shaped frame and leather sling seat, these chairs are truly a twentieth century design classic. It is made of chrome plated tubular steel with an enameled steel frame, with leather sling seat. This chair is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art.
This pair of chairs is in perfect condition. All the connects and leather sling attachment are sound. The leather is not cracked or worn. A single chair sold on 1stdibs for $3600. This is a real "find" so we can sell the pair for $3960
