Item Description
kremsmunster Abbey is a Benectine Order Monastery. The monastery was founded in 777 by the Duke of Bavaria (Tasslo III). According to legend Tassilo founded the monastery on the site where his son, Gunther had been attackd & killed by a wild boar during a hunting trip.
The death is represented on the heraldic crest by a wild boar with a broken spear.
This crest would look fabulous gracing a fireplace & also provide a story to go with it.
