This carved ivory skull features applied gemstones polished and decorated to appear as beetles. Overall level of craftsmanship is exceptionally high. This is believed to date from the late 20th century or later. It is signed, but we have not yet deciphered the mark. Believed to be of Chinese or Japanese origin.
