A. SANTINI SIGNED CHARIOT SCULPTURE.
A vintage sculpture of a charging horse-drawn gladiator chariot made of crushed marble, alabaster & resin on a Nero Portoro black and gold marble plinth.
Signed: A. Santini ~ Made in Italy
Amilcare Santini, was born in Italy, 1910, near the city of Florence in Tuscany. He became an apprentice to the sculptor Colombini at the age of twelve. He then traveled to Florence and attended the university there for four years. He was instrumental in the process of implementing and combining a mixture of marble, alabaster and resin. He passed away in 1975. Amiloare Santini was one of the finest sculptors of the period.
