Item Description
This mirror shown has been sold to a local artist here in Portland - a painter who does beautiful work in acrylics. It's a made-to-order antiqued mirror in distressed painted gilded frame in gold leaf. The frame is newly built by us, has an artificially aged faux finish, of paint with gold leaf accents, and curved oak trim details and hangs on a sturdy metal french cleat. This mirror was originally designed and made for someone who loved chalky, aged, Gustavian Swedish finishes and we did our best to replicate the 18th century distressed painted look. The mirror or frame can be ordered in any size / shape / color / finish / effect that you like, and this would include rounds, arched shapes, and ovals. I have developed my own techniques for chemically aging new mirror to look antique. Close study of real antique mirror and my artistic approach to the process make my mirror look exciting and soulful, and as close to the real thing as I can get. The effect is fully customizable and is available in different “levels of extremity”. This one was meant to look very aged and have a very heavy effect on the glass. As is true in all of our work in designing and building bespoke furniture my approach is flexible to the job at hand. I invite my customers to the studio for feedback, to ensure that the result is exactly what you want. If you live out of town we will communicate thoroughly and I will send you physical finish examples to look at in your own home and in your own lighting, as well as to show you full resolution detailed photographs during the process.
