Electrified Gas Lamps - Japanned Brass and Blue Glass for sale
Item ID: 376975
Item Description
This is a spectacular pair of Japanned light fixtures in excellent, working condition. They feature metal fitters with copper and black Japanned or Tiger Stripe patinaed fitters and gorgeous rare soft blue glass globe shades. Patent stickers on the insides indicate patents dating from 1899-1903, with others pending. I was told that these were taken from the Lindell Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska. The hotel was built in the late 1800's but, sadly, demolished around in 1968. Each complete fixture with globe is 21 1/2 inches from the top of the 's' hook to the bottom of the globe. They also include the Japanned hanging pipe and heat shield. The globes are about 9 inches in diameter with a 4 inch diameter rim opening. They are beautiful, light blue and have no chips or cracks.
A unique feature of these lights is the shade holder/fitter design: one end of the shadeholder is hooked, which allows the shade to be safely suspended from one of the fitter's clips while you are changing the bulb. These fixtures are just beautiful and look just as nice on or off. soldas a pair at $2,200
You can now see our collection up close at the new Radio-Guy showroom in Buchanan, New York.
