Item Description
This tremendous antique silverplated lantern of Middle Eastern origin measures an impressive 56 in tall and 23 in across (142.2 by 58.4 cm), and features fine chased and pierced decorations including geometric shapes, animals, and applied leaves and flowers. This Ottoman era fixture may be of Turkish, Syrian or Persian origin. We have found no hallmarks. We believe the base metal is brass or copper. Condition is very good. There are some light dents and scratches, consistent with age.
