Antique Victorian Copper Vase for sale
Item ID: 375231
Item Description
A 19th century, Victorian vase modeled after a rustic bucket and executed in copper with brass bands. The Victorians completely romanticizied country life and were apt ot adapt country styles for a more sophisticated environment. This is such an example whereby a simple object, a country water bucket, has been upscaled and executed in copper with brass bands. The attention to detail is exact; even the patina of the wood has been recreated by etching lines in the copper.
The bucket is tin lined and measurements are: 5.75 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter and in good condition. A perfect object with many possible uses; one use it to hold cooking spoons in the kitchen, as a flower vases (why not, a bunch of white tulips) or even at the dinner table with a white napkin to hold warm hot biscuits. It is the epirome of Victorian romantic charm in the spirit of James Tufts or Kate Greenaway.
