Wonderful, late 1800’s English tea tin. Painted with the number 9, this tea tin is in good condition and also has it’s original lid. Tea tins were used to store tea leaves and often displayed in a prominent place in the home as a sign of prosperity and wealth. Tea was an expensive commodity and was often guarded by the lady of the house, sometimes under lock and key after tea was served.
