Set of eight detailed maps illustrating the chronological, historical development of the United States. Begins with The Struggles for a Continent 1498-1763, progresses to The Origin of A Nation 1763-1789 and then on to Early Western Expansion 1790-1819, A Growing Nation 1820-1848, Expansion and Sectional Conflict 1848-1860, Armed Conflict and Reconstruction 1861-1877, concludes with The United States in the Twentieth Century 1912-1939. The final map is of the United States, circa 1940s. Encompassing the main map of each time period are illustrative graphs, charts and callouts that add informative and intriguing detail underlying the specific historical period. The maps are collectively mounted on a heavy-duty wooden roller with steel hanging brackets. Each map is finished at the bottom in steel trim that aids in flipping the maps around the roller to access and display each in turn.
