Item Description
A utility box designed by Wilhelm Kienzle. The box was designed in the spirit of the Bauhaus mantra, form = function. It was originally designed to hold material to take care of one's shoes, hence the shoe and brush on outside. This object is particularly interesting as it shows the ingenuity of using color to make the simplest objects attractive and interesting. It was designed in 1935. Measurements are: H 5.25 x L 14.25 x W 8.9 inches. The producer is MEWA, the producer of the aluminum furniture designed by the Swiss architect, Hans Coray. This particular box is from the 1950s and in very good condition.
