Giorgio Ferro Anse Volante Black Glass Vase for Arte Vetraria Muranese A.VE.M. for sale
Item ID: 385233
Item Description
This is one of three fine examples of Ferro's Ansa Volanti line of handled vases that we have in stock. Ferro created the line for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.VE.M.) starting around 1950. This line of hand-blown pieces is distinguished by its deep, rich colors, shimmering iridescent surfaces, and handles pulled from the surface (not applied), which leads to a unique one-of-a-kind sculptural effect with each work. This particular vase is crafted from blown and formed green glass with an outer black patina. Condition is good. There are no visible cracks or deep scratches. There are spots of white residue noticeable around the base which appears to be from a cleaning agent. We have only lightly cleaned the surface with soap and water, but believe we can safely remove the rest of this residue.
