Item Description
ABC picture blocks with beautiful lithographed illustrations of animals on the faces and lid. A learning tool for reading, ca 1870-1890, English origin.
Mounting: The lid and case full of blocks have been carefully recessed in a mount made from archival foam core covered in 100% cotton twill, black in color, which has been washed and treated to reduce and set the dye. Acrylic spacers were used to fill extra space inside the box to keep the blocks firmly in place. The wooden frame is simple and black in color. The front is U.V. protective acrylic.
Condition: There is minor, expected wear.
