This exceptionally designed and crafted glazed ceramic centerpiece dates from the early Art Nouveau period, circa 1890, and is believed to come from the factory of Sampson Hancock and Sons, which operated originally in Tunstall, and later in Stoke and Hanley, England. According to The Potteries website, this company originally produced stoneware, and later semi-porcelain, but this piece as the unglazed and glazed appearance, weight and ring of porcelain. Condtion is exceptional. There are no visible cracks, and a recent professional restoration to a clean break in the top most extended arm which is not visible to the naked eye. Measures 14.2" tall, 12.5" wide and 10" deep.
