"As one of the last, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg still produces each individual item by hand. A fact that is appreciated by experts and collectors alike, but "the amazement of customers who are told that delivery of a four-part service will take two years shows how far removed we have become from the appreciation of artistic work and craftsmanship". (Karl Spengler, Die schönste Botschaft Bayerns an die Welt, Munich 1954, P. 9)"
"Adelbert Niemeyer countered the magnificence of the historicist and art nouveau styles with his simple and graceful designs. He worked for Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg from 1905. Here, he designed the cylindrical DINNER SERVICE 820 and the TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE 811 (still in production to this day) in a particularly objective style. As he himself said, these are two services that are "simple, practical and elegant and that do not in the least refer to the art nouveau style which, thank goodness, has been overcome". His vases and porcelain fretwork baskets also express timeless design."
