Extraordinary burnished urn with exotic birds design. These feathered designs were only made for a short period of time in the 1930s and 40s. Red background with colorful bird and flower. Also known as "earthenware of water", this burnished ceramic ware is the most famous, not only for its decorations and splendid burnish, attained by rubbing the surface with a piece of pyrite, but also for the flavor, fragance and freshness of the liquids contained. For this reason this pieces were locally known as "barro de olor" (scented clay). The vase measures 14 inches tall and has a 33 inch circumference at its widest part.
