Antique English Porcelain Dessert Service Attributed To Coalport for sale

Item Description
This is a twelve-piece dessert service attributed by Sotheby's to Coalport from the mid to late 19th century. The set was appraised by Sotheby's for $7,000 in 1998. (We will be happy to provide a copy of the appraisal.) This service has a turquoise ground decorated with ivy leaves enclosing twelve different flower specimens, with the Latin species name painted on reverse. Overall condition is very good, with no visible chips or restorations. There is noticeable wear to the gilding on each piece. Set includes:(1) footed oblong two-handled stand (11.75 x 8.75 x 2.5 inches)
(1) footed oval two-handled stand (10.75 x 9 x 2 inches)
(2) single-handled stands (9.75 x 8.75 x 2.5 inches)
(8) plates (9 inch diameter)
this set comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford New York known as Cantitoe Farms. (Formerly known as Sycamore Farms, the estate is down the road from Martha Stewart's estate.) The set was purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s.
