Item Description
This patinated bronze work by Michi Raphael is believed to date from the 1980s. It features a polished cast bronze sphere that appears to join the ends of a continuous looping ribbon with green patinated finish. It is unsigned and one of two works by the artist that we currently have available for sale. Raphael studied at the New School and Pratt Institute in New York. She is known to have exhibited at Sunrise Gallery in Charleston WV, Marietta College in Marietta OH, the Union Carbide Galleries in New York, among others. Her works belong in the collections of Hoffman LaRoche (Nutley NJ), the First National Bank & Trust (Tulsa, OK), American Steel Products (Syosset NY), and Nabisco (East Hanover NJ). She is listed in Jacobsen's Biographical Index of American Artists, edited by Anita Jacobsen and published in 2002.
