Item Description
P A U L M C C O B B
Paul McCobb was an industrial designer who had no formal design training, but opened his own studio in New York in 1945. He worked as a decorator and retail merchandiser, and eventually turned to furniture. By the mid-1950s, he was known as "America's Decorator" launching the "Planner Group" furniture series, among others. While he was a contemporary of other well-known furniture designers such as Charles Eames and George Nelson, his early death prevented similar professional recognition during his lifetime.
