This splint basket contains more than 30 vintage cotton rag balls. The owner painted her name across the wooden handle of the basket. See photo.
Anna Millard, wife of Lewis C. Millard, was the mother of 2 children, only one was alive by 1910. Anna and Lewis were hotel proprietors by that time and lived with his parents, Mahitable and John. By 1920 John was deceased and they cared for 84-year-old Mahitable in Oneonta.
