Item Description
Oil on canvas of a docked oil tanker. Union 76 barrels are seen on the dock. This particular ship took evasive maneuvers during WW2 near the Oregon Coast as it was fired upon by a Japanese Submarine. Charles Stanford (1900-1988) was best known for his Marine paintings and his love of painting ships of all kinds. Known to have passed away in 1988 in Oregon.
