Arranged in tic-tac-toe fashion, these nine date to World War ll when the Office of Price Administration initiated nationwide food rationing.
Every civilian became part of the home front effort by using stamps and tokens to buy such staples as meat, sugar, butter, coffee, shoes, tires and gasoline. Each item had a specific pint value
Red stamps and tokens were used for meat, butter, oils, and cheese and blue for canned goods, dry beans, baby food, etc.
