This set of three antique farmfield drags was part of a larger primitive farm implement pulled behind a horse or mule to prepare soil for planting. The deep crevesses of age on the wooden brackets and the weathered steel spikes speak of years of hard work in the field scratching out a bare living. Displayed as sculptural wall art, they resonate with lyric echoes of homesteading life on the midwestern plains from which grew the geat American breadbasket that fed the world.
