19th century turned wood Hat Box,  Gold painting with lacquer.  Very good craftsmanship with indented rim and stiched jioning, wood and bamboo construction.  Top is solid wood and strong to support items placed on top and also lifts completely off. Can make a very nice low side table,  with storage, magazines, or the likes.

Very good piece for collection base and or decoration.
