The process of laminating exotic materials reaches an art form here ; burl wood and parchment have their problems but this is most difficult because the shells actually overlap and yet the surface is smooth ! The wood has been restored with a tung oil finish and the hairpin legs have been replaced due to a loss of one original ; the table has also been elevated by 1/2 inch so it will give better leg clearance. I cannot honestly say that the hairpin legs are original to the table and there are two chips in the top but not pronounced and well repaired .
