Finish is an original painted off white with a beautiful two toned patina. The front arms of the chair and the chair front rails contain an intricately carved inlaid wood assembly design of elongated acanthus. The surround on the oval and chair base is ribbon and reed, guilloche with florets at the front and side of the chair base. Straight tapering fluted legs (legs au asperges) characterize this fabulous style, in which each element is a discrete entity. The chair is newly upholstered in a festive Scottish Tartan Plaid and is finished with hand applied rows of abutting brass nails.
