A dramatic ladys writing table probably made in England and as most island furniture of that era was made to breath due to the high humidity, hence the built in bookcases are slatted so that air can circulate. Other features are an ample drawer, scallopped top and the pronounced cabriole legs. The finish is original and very dark - it could use a new finish but I am finding that many of the new generation of collectors like objects as they are found ! It is of sound structure, no loose joints .
