The top is a cut of wood that money cannot buy today ; this is extremely thick book matched veneer from an Art Deco table. The base is an old Chicago Foundry cast iron art worktable. The proportions in this marriage are most aesthetically pleasing! I have been a professional restorer for 27 years and this is one of those odd and unusually good objects that will never be seen again.
