The table is long and narrow. It is made of maple top to bottom and ending in a great cast iron foot. The top is thick and mared from years of use with restorations such as a well done Dutchman to restore the cracks. It appears that the table was shortened at some point or the legs were brought closer to the center by a cut in the top stretcher but this may have been done to allow more comfort to the person sitting on each end.The finish is a base of oil and a dressing of wax, the traditional finish.
